Showcasing Sustainability and Celebrating Success

Workplace Recycling law – it’s the countdown for businesses to get it sorted!

Back in September we launched a fully integrated campaign, including a TV ad, to help raise awareness of the Workplace Recycling law in Wales coming into force this April. The TV ad hit the screens again this February to kick-off the 3-month countdown to the change, alongside a series of success stories showcasing and celebrating businesses in Wales that have already got their recycling sorted. Check out how Canton Fruit Market, who are proud to have gone ‘full in’ with their recycling, are harvesting fantastic benefits from it:

ISO 9001 Quality Certified for another year

We’re always looking to improve and ensure a high-quality of service in everything we do, whether that’s through training and industry insight, client feedback, pushing boundaries with our creative or through our approach to appraisals. Even the most creative of agencies need clear systems and processes in place. Ian, our Operations Director, works hard behind the scenes with the team to ensure we continue to meet the very highest quality standards, and this has been recognised through another successful ISO 9001 audit. Thank you and well done Ian!

Filming in the forest for the Forestry Commission

We’re working with the Forestry Commission to raise awareness of the latest threat to tree health, the Ips typographus beetle. Our Senior Designer, Sara (not the gentleman in the picture), took a trip into the forest to direct a film shoot providing information and guidance on how to monitor and stop the spread of these destructive pests amongst spruce trees.

Proud to be growing our own

Investing in the growth of our staff has always been a key focus for SBW, and February proved to be a month filled with more learning than usual. From effective communication and mastering influencer marketing to HR training, the team can’t wait to put into practice their boosted expertise and skills in our current and upcoming campaigns, as well as internal and external projects.

Judging at the Cardiff Life Awards

We were very honoured to be invited to judge several Cardiff Life Awards – the business highlight of the city. Our Senior Account Director Emily, sat on the panel which recognises and celebrates local businesses who are best in class for contributing towards making the city of Cardiff (which many of us are proud to call home) so uniquely brilliant. Best of luck to all those who entered!

A not so rubbish day out at Wastesavers!

Have you ever wondered what happens to recycling once it leaves our homes or offices? We were out shooting at Wastesavers in Newport to uncover just that, showing the recycling journey from start to finish for our Climate Action Wales campaign. Recycling over 18,000 tonnes of material annually, including 5,000 tonnes of paper, Wastesavers plays a key role in sustainability as a social enterprise and charity. It serves 75,000 households with its weekly domestic recycling service, alongside a network of reuse shops, two repair cafes, a Nappy Library and two education programmes. It was a very rainy day but our SBW team, including our Senior Account Director Ida, were there to produce a film to show all the hard work that goes into recycling. Our aim was also to highlight what we can do at home to sort it right to help the process – as together we can make a difference towards a greener Wales!

Moving on up to Account Executive – well done Amber!

From day one, Amber’s proactive attitude and organisation skills have impressed us, and we’re very proud to announce her well-deserved promotion to Account Executive! Good job and fist pumps galore.
