So reflecting back on my first week at SBW Advertising, I can’t believe it went so fast… and how quickly my ‘first week nerves’ have settled. Walking through the door on the first day I was immediately made to feel welcome and settling down at my Mac I wondered nervously what tasks would lay ahead. I looked around enjoying our position high above Bristol, feeling excited about getting stuck in. Work began to flow in and my initial nerves about not being able to design anything under pressure soon wore off.

I already feel part of the team. I am enjoying getting to know all of the different brands and companies I will be dealing with and look forward to being a part of the creative process that produces work from the studio.

Having previously only designed in-house or on a freelance basis for small businesses, it’s a new challenge for me designing within an agency and working on projects for such a variety of big brands, companies and organisations, but something I am really looking forward to learning about and getting involved in. It’s also great to be working within a larger team with a really nice atmosphere within the office.

And I am particularly excited about the ‘bring a dish’ evening tomorrow… my biggest dilemma now being what dish I am going to bring for the Tea Party theme.
